Argentinian President Cristina Fernández is in Havana on a state visit to Cuba. This is the first time since 1986 that an Argentinian president has visited the island nation. Ms Fernández will meet her Cuban counterpart Raúl Castro to discuss strengthening diplomatic ties between the two countries.
The Argentinian president also wants to meet Fidel Castro, but this is not expected to happen. There have been rumours that the revolutionary leader’s health has seriously deteriorated over the past few weeks.
